There is going to be a get together of Shepherdson lines from around the world on October 9 2011 in Hackney Adelaide. For more information please message me and I will send you the details.
This site is dedicated to my Shepherdson ancestry. My grandmother was Nellie Doreen Shepherdson. My great great great grandparents Robert Shepherdson and Mary Anderson from Yorkshire, came to Australia on the Barque "FLORENTIA" sailing from Plymouth, England 9th March 1849, arriving Port Adelaide, S.A. Australia, Wednesday 20th June 1849 with their 5 children (arriving with 6). They arrived in South Australia on the ship Florentina in 1849 where Robert and his brother John set up a portable timber milling business. The mill was invented by Robert. Around 1862 Robert and his family moved the mill to Victoria in Kyneton area They had 12 children, 8 born in Yorkshire 3 died, one born at sea and 2 in South Australia and the last one Hannah in Victoria. Mary died in July 1867 and Robert remarried in October 1867 Hannah Ellison and they had 5 children. Robert died in 1877 having fathered 17 children including my great great grandfather Timothy who had 14 children. Robert's great great grandfather was George Shepherdson b.1705
My great great grandfather Timothy Shepherdson married Jane Ann Ward who immigrated to Australia with her parents and a sister. Jane Ann's great great great grandfather was William Shepherdson b.1710 who was married to Sarah Grimshaw. I have not been able to establish a connection between the two Shepherdsons.
